The most common questions about backing a UC campaign.
No. UC Crowdfunding is 100% donation-based. Backers receive no equity, no financial return, and no shares. Every pledge is a gift to United Cultures Foundation ring-fenced for the specific cultural project chosen.
No physical rewards or perks. Backers receive campaign updates, an impact report when the campaign completes, and public acknowledgement on the campaign page (unless they opt for anonymous).
Most campaigns have a EUR 5 minimum. Some campaigns set higher minimums (EUR 10 or more) depending on the project.
No maximum. For pledges of EUR 10,000 or more, the UC Foundation team may contact you directly to arrange the transfer and discuss additional recognition (if desired).
Unlike traditional crowdfunding, UC does not refund all backers. Funds already pledged are transferred to the general UC Foundation programme fund and continue to advance cultural preservation. This is disclosed on every campaign page. Individual refund requests: contact crowdfunding@unitedcultures.org within 14 days.
All payments are processed via Bunq. After you submit the pledge form on UC, a modal opens with a "Pay via Bunq" button. You will pay Stichting United Cultures Foundation directly at IBAN NL46 BUNQ 2290 9503 78. Payment methods: card, iDEAL, SEPA, or bank transfer.
No. United Cultures Foundation does not hold ANBI status. Pledges are gifts to the foundation and are not tax-deductible for Dutch taxpayers.
Yes. The pledge form includes an "anonymous" checkbox. Your name will not appear publicly on the campaign page. UC still needs your name and email internally for the payment record and receipt.
Every campaign publishes progress updates. Once complete, the campaign creator publishes a final impact report showing exactly how the funds were used, with photos, documents, and outcomes.
Email crowdfunding@unitedcultures.org with your project idea. Campaigns are curated by the UC Foundation team and must align with one of UC's flagship cultural preservation programmes.
